Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist in Colorado Springs, CO

Couples Therapy • Marriage Counseling • Individual Therapy

As a couples therapist, I help couples move from conflict and disconnection toward safety, trust, and lasting connection.

I provide in-person couples therapy in Colorado Springs and virtual therapy throughout Colorado for adults and couples who feel stuck in painful relationship patterns. Whether you are having the same argument repeatedly, struggling to communicate, living more like roommates, rebuilding trust, or longing for greater emotional and physical intimacy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) can help you understand the cycle keeping you disconnected and find your way back to one another.

Ready to take the first step toward a more connected relationship?

You might notice things like….

  • Feeling lonely or disconnected, even when you are together

  • Repeating the same arguments without ever reaching a resolution

  • Struggling to communicate without criticism, defensiveness, anger, or shutting down

  • Feeling more like roommates, co-parents, or business partners than a connected couple

  • Walking on eggshells or avoiding difficult conversations to prevent another fight

  • Feeling unheard, unseen, rejected, or unimportant to your partner

  • Experiencing a loss of emotional or physical intimacy

  • Struggling to rebuild trust after betrayal, secrecy, or years of disappointment

  • Feeling emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, discouraged, or stuck in patterns that never seem to change

  • Wondering whether your relationship can heal—or if it is already too late

You may still love each other deeply, but no longer know how to reach one another. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps couples understand the negative communication cycle beneath their conflict and uncover the deeper emotions, fears, and attachment needs driving their reactions.

Through EFT couples therapy and marriage counseling in Colorado Springs, you can learn to communicate more openly, rebuild emotional safety and trust, strengthen intimacy, and create a more secure and connected relationship. You do not have to keep repeating the same painful cycle—and you do not have to find your way out of it alone.

This is where I come in……

You do not have to keep repeating the same painful cycle or try to repair your relationship on your own. As an Emotionally Focused couples therapist, I help partners slow down their conflict, identify the negative communication patterns keeping them stuck, and understand the deeper emotions and attachment needs underneath their reactions.

In our work together, therapy becomes a safe, supportive space where both partners can feel heard without blame or judgment. Rather than focusing only on the surface argument, we will explore what is happening beneath the criticism, defensiveness, anger, or withdrawal. As you begin to understand the cycle—and each other—you can learn to communicate more openly, respond with greater empathy, rebuild trust, and restore emotional and physical intimacy.

I believe healing begins when people feel seen, understood, and safe enough to be honest about their pain. Through Emotionally Focused Therapy and Christian couples counseling in Colorado Springs, my goal is to help you strengthen your relationship, grow emotionally, and create the safe, secure, and lasting connection God designed you for.

You do not have to have all the answers before beginning couples therapy. You only need a willingness to take the next step. Together, we can help you move out of disconnection and toward greater healing, clarity, and connection.

My Values as a Therapist

Trust

Trust grows when there is safety in being vulnerable, reliability in showing up, and confidence in knowing you are not alone.

Authenticity

Authenticity means showing up in a way that is genuine, honest, and vulnerable enough to be truly known.
Connection is the experience of feeling seen, fully known, and together in the moments that matter most.
Respect is shown through honor for one another, value for each person’s voice, and consideration in the way we respond and relate.

Connection

Safety is created through acceptance without judgment, emotional security, and genuine compassion for your story.

Safety

Faith

Our belief in God gives us hope in uncertainty, trust in His presence, and surrender in the moments we cannot carry on our own.

Hi, I’m Jennifer,

An EFT Therapist in Colorado Springs, CO

Three teenage boys standing indoors with their arms around each other, smiling at the camera, in front of windows and a bookshelf.

My husband and I have been married for 27 years. We have four sons, Garrett, Gage, Graham, and Darrick. We have two daughter in laws, and a Goldendoodle, Landry.

I love to work out, read, travel, and make memories. As a former educator and school counselor for 17 years, I find counseling very similar to my work as a teacher and mentor. I know how easy it is to look okay on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted, or lonely underneath.

I also know how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help.

My heart for counseling comes from a deep belief that people are created for connection—not isolation, shame, or simply surviving. So many couples and individuals feel stuck in patterns they never intended to live in, unsure how to move forward or reconnect again.

I want therapy to feel like a place where you can finally exhale.

A place where you don’t have to perform, have all the right words, or walk in with everything figured out.

I care deeply about helping people feel seen, understood, and emotionally safe. Whether I’m sitting with a couple who feels distant from one another or an individual carrying anxiety, grief, relational pain, or emotional exhaustion, my goal is to help people slow down enough to understand what’s happening underneath the surface—because that’s often where healing begins.

I believe relationships can heal. I believe people can grow. I believe new patterns can be created. And I believe God often meets us in the middle of our pain, not after we’ve cleaned it all up.

It is truly an honor to walk alongside people in some of their most vulnerable moments.
